Why is PostgreSQL needed - why won't MySQL work?

dw2cco — Thu, 12/17/2009 - 14:02

I'm in the process of setting up a server able to run IdeaTorrent.

The docs say that I need to install PostgreSQL. A few friends I've spoken to have all said, "MySQL is better".

Seeing that MySQL is already present on the server, that would be an attractive option.

Could someone please explain why IdeaTorrent is dependent on PostgreSQL, and can't instead use MySQL?
